Objective: My goal is to pursue a career to improve the lives and outcomes of my students. My experiences and knowledge in this area will allow me to promote problem-solving skills, ideas of equity, multiculturalism, the importance of education and citizenship to all students.

Administrative Experience

Associate Principal

Culler Middle School; Lincoln, NE; Fall 2012- Spring 2023

  • Collaborating closely with administrative team to promote a positive, high achieving learning environment.
  • School Improvement Team Leader and developed systems to improve this process.
  • Helped to lead and improve our Tier 2/3 and All Tiers Teams.
  • Working closely with district personnel and Culler staff during the initial Technology Pilot for Lincoln Public Schools focusing on Go Math! Curriculum.
  • Developing and implementing significant changes to behavioral interventions in conjunction with BIST, PBIS, and Restorative Justice.
  • Directly involved in human resources in the building including appraising and coaching half of the Culler faculty on their teaching practices as well as hiring new staff.
  • Led major changes to the master schedule and how information was received from teachers and inputted using the AS400, Pinnacle and Synergy information systems.
  • Managing the facilities and maintenance of the building including overseeing Standard Response Protocol.
  • Developed, researched, and administrated an innovative summer program Culler Summer Investigators (CSI) for transitioning new students to Culler.

Instructional Coordinator

Culler Middle School; Lincoln, NE; Fall 2010-12

  • Facilitated BIST building-wide, including teaching workshops for staff, developing intervention plans for students. Assisted organizing BIST a consistent grade level, team approach.
  • Collaborated with staff as an instructional leader and appraiser.
  • Worked closely with students and families for discipline issues.
  • Designed and implemented the Hope Program, a program designed to pair Doane College education majors with Culler students to teach about the promise of post-secondary education.
  • Began using Learning Together, a peer-to-peer reading intervention/mentoring after school program.

Bryan Community High School; Lincoln, NE; Fall 2001-05, 06-10.

  • Taught a variety of math and social science classes to at-risk students with great disparities of ability and motivation.
  • Developed curriculum and team-taught multiple lesson units through multi-disciplinary and theme-based approaches.
  • Member of School Improvement, Professional Learning Community, Advisement, Assessment and Evaluation teams.
  • Involved in discipline and behavioral intervention process with the administration.
  • Participated in department and building liaison meetings, including the respective Multicultural, Equity, Instruction, and School and Community Intervention Program teams.
  • Coached Girls Junior Varsity and Reserve Soccer teams and Boys Varsity, Junior Varsity, and Reserve Soccer teams at Lincoln High School.

Professional Teaching- Sun Prairie High School; SOAR Program; Sun Prairie, WI; Fall 2006-07

  • Developed a night high school program for at-risk students.
  • Taught multiple English classes to students who had been expelled from the larger Sun Prairie High School.
  • Implemented several interdisciplinary mini-units for school-wide curricular experiences.
  • Started using BIST as a behavioral plan and program philosophy.
